Lets see, I've been here about a month or two---still here even. Wow!
First and foremost--- Anyone who does not know the link between fame and how much you lose, didn't read the "How to Play". So my personal thought is to not let anyone play unless they have displayed the entire help file. Of course, a determined noob who thinks he knows the game without ever having played it or read the directions cannot be fully protected from him or herself.
Second--- people are going to quit any game worth playing. Even if you did a universal reset every few months, you'd still have some people quit with an "its too hard" whine. Right now, the game is balanced in such a way as to be fun if you take the time to learn to play it.
Third-- One way to still keep the game fun but make it easier to not get the heck kicked out of you as often would be to expand the map. With just a few upgrades to both ship and radar, I can cover great portions of the map from an attack standpoint each day--- and if I upgrade more, I imagine that that will be even more so. The larger the map the less chance of the same person being found by the other same people in the same day. (Unless there is a coordinated attack via Chat, etc.)
