i've been trying for sometime now... this is what happens when i open up 'in game chat'

[18:10] Connecting...
[18:11] Logging in...
[18:11] -irc.dark-future.org- *** Looking up your hostname...
[18:11] -irc.dark-future.org- *** Found your hostname
[18:11] Error : Closing Link: [76.176.96.30] (Ping timeout)
[18:11] Disconnected from irc.gamers-irc.net

Tried using another client??. I can still enter using the in-game Java chat, but I find uisng another client such as TurboIRC much quicker to load and with more features.

i can only get in chat from the game window not the members area.

Oh yes some people were talking about that and i downloaded TurboIRC7 but i dont really know how to set up.. i was told you know how? could you help me sometime when you're free?

To join the chat with any chat client, you require the following steps:

- start up the program ( eg. chatzilla, mirc )
- connect to the irc server : /server irc.dark-future.org
- join the channel: /join #piratetheworld
- try to keep your ingame nickname so people recognize you /nick yournick

On T7 you enter those details like 3J says, but you enter them on the connect box rather than as commands. That way you can save and don't need to enter them again. But I'll post in more detail later.
