Our host had a fiber connection go down on them last night. I called them when I discovered the problem (at 3AM our time) and someone picked up the phone and told me what was going on. I would have posted on the forum but I couldn't access anything.

At 2:54AM PDT (GMT-7), our fiber transport between our POP at the One
Wilshire Building in down town Los Angeles and our Irvine Internet Data
Center was unexpectedly severed. We immediately contacted the network
operations center for both the POP and our fiber carrier regarding the
issue. Both parties informed us that there were no maintenance windows
currently in progress and assured us they would investigate the
problem. At approximately 4:05AM PDT (GMT-7) the circuit was operational
again.
We apologize for the outage, however it was related to a fiber problem
fully out of our control. Unexpected issues not within the control of
Staminus Communications can occur and unfortunately due to the nature
of the Internet can impact connectivity. We are currently working on a
new business operational plan to extend service continuity despite
potential future failures of this particular fiber.
