So we've been thinking for awhile about an option for players to have a paid membership and what kinds of benefits it would have. KingDragun suggested something that I think could be a good incentive for a paid member. There could be a pirate wheel that you could spin once per day(possibly gain extra spins from the wheel. There could be many prizes won by spinning such as, but not limited to...

Free Moves
Fame Resets(that you could store)
Gold(100-1,000,000 pieces)(could greatly help newbies)
Cash Prizes
Prizes(tv, gaming systems, gift cards, etc.)
Other things we can come up

and what I think would be the best thing on the board...a jackpot. We could maybe start it with half the total amount earned from paid memberships. For instance if membership was $9.95 and we had 100 paid memberships the jackpot could start at $500 and go up maybe $1-$5 per day or something. Paid memberships could also be found as prizes. I'm just wondering is this worth it or what? Please post feedback.

9.95 per month? week? year? depends how long.. would there be other way for certain people to become members if they didnt have money? could everyone be given a "ptw account" so if they place in a treasure hunt, or cashout, they dont have to take the money its put into the account for these reasons? i think the idea has potential, but dont make it so if you dont pay, your basically screwd... could there be a long term discount option? like 6 months costs 49.95 instead of 9.95 per month? or less or somethin to that effect

yes we could do free treasure hunts for premium members and huskers we could do discounts yes and the $9.95 would be per month and you could also find paid memberships on islands and you could also choose to buy it with treasure hunt money. Plenty of options. No one would be screwed. It would just give a good benefit I think to premium members and give those members a good chance at upgrading, cashing out, earning money, etc..

I think it would be a great idea lol - of course max the total that the jackpot could go up to to a certain % of the total that is brought in so that you guys can make some money.

I'm in, and ready to start spinning lol

I like the idea, but I would like to see the account functionality get taken care of first, or at the same time. :-)

Of course. We still have other things to deal with before we do this, but I just wanted to get user feedback. Spaz, like anyone I like to make money, but putting a cap on the jackpot isn't something I'd want to do. You win it and you win as much as we can put into it. The only thing I want out of the game is for it to be fun, people to get money, and me be able to make a little bit to help out with bills.

U just watch...if you start charging people 9.95 a month to play this game you are going to lose this game. yeah you have the few people in here that are all excited about it but then you have everyone else. Think about it 120$ to play the game...yeah you could get more back and that but still the idea of playing 120$ a year to play an online game almost makes me wanna go to the casino tonight where atleast i have control on what i can do with the money. I have only been playing a lil over a week and like the game alot but i just think that if you start charging you are going to lose the game. People might all sign up at 1st but after a couple of months people aren't going to pay. Another thing it will do though is stop people from signing up 2nd and 3rd names from their house and trying to get on the new leaderboard and then never playing on that name again. Since they have to pay for the name...one name would be enough.

yep - its not like you have to do it to play, its just a way to get more money coming into the site, and also another way for members to win money. Without funds coming into the game, none can really come out - you can't expect the admins to pay out of pocket.

There's no way that this will chase players away either. For a small fee, new players will have a chance to win lots of gold, helping them to catchup faster, and I might have a small chance of gaining ground on popcan lol (i doubt that though)

Its not a requirement, just something to add fun to the game and bring in money

Dunno I got mixed feelings about it-while it would be great to have some perks ect, it seems a bit steep for the type of game it is. Maybe start it at 5.00 a month since there are alot of kids too that play this game and people without alot of disposable income.

Yes it's entirely optional. The reason I was thinking 10 because it's not that much money. It's very cheap and it's not like we're going to be having cheap stuff on the wheel. I mean if you won 100 moves everyday that's 30 x $3.50 which is a lot more than $10. If you consider that as well as considering the jackpot it makes sense to have it where it is.
