Can't we just give the new system a proper chance? It's only been a week, or thereabout. I'm no scientist, heck I'm not even a scientologist, but doesn't an experiment require time?

It seems to me that the only people who can see everyone's stats are the admins. So why can't we just wait till cashout, see if the same people are still cashing out and big. If suddenly a bunch of folks u never heard of and hardly ever see while playing or checking stats, cash out, then I'll buy your theory that the game is skewed towards the weaker players.

I'm more than willing to wait untill the end of the month. I wasn't planning on cashing out. Figured I don't stand a snowball's chance in hell. But was hoping to upgrade. If I can't manage a single upgrade by the end of the month, then I'll start complaining.

B4 the change, even with 0-1 fame, when that was supposed to be so fair, I was getting hit for a grand and 500 at a time, and I never had a whole heck of a lot of gold. Now I'm getting hit with 0 fame for a fair percentage.

Seriously, b4 almost all I saw was success against me on my attack log, now it's around 90% success against me, but compared to b4 I'm hugely relieved.

I'm happy with the way it is now. I feel like it is more balanced like when I complained in the rant and rave section before. As for the greedy others too bad.HEHE :wink:

ok im gonna go with my feelings now.. we have been running this attack system for a whole month.. and from what i gather.. it has its ups and downs.. pluses and minuses...

here is what i suggest and id like some input:


Leave it the same for attacks when the attacking pirates attack is lower than the defending pirates defense, so that way they can still attack higher ups, and what not.

HOWEVER

change it back to the way it was for attackers who have higher attack than the defenders with lower defense. This way higher up people who earned to get where they are wont have to fail on people that are no names...

n those are just the 6 on my log of 50.. and i know theres more on the day if you wanna say i failed go for it hah... (oh yea ozwizard twice once at 23:59 and once at 01:00 or somethin like that)

the only one of those that w/ this method that COULD fail is mskwik (now possibly rat.. idk on that 100%) ... and thats not a gurantee... it still makes it so lower people have a chance to attack the highers and get gold from them, but highers dont get screwd out of a lot because they cant hit the lowers

LordAmbush, hainerman, cabinboy, seamanstains, twalk1, nsng20, paogeh, zrz1190-- i succeed on hainer and zrz.. what should happen.. and fail on lordambush, cabinboy, seamanstains, twalk1, nsng20, and paogeh... all which shouldnt happen.. id really like to see other peoples opinions.. i think im gonna make a new post w/ a poll combining my two posts here

I believe it was zero
had just got a reset and did and upgrade on my ship only had about 30 moves left so I hit random islands

i would be willing to gurantee you didnt have 0 fame w/ 656 gold pieces... in order to lose 160 you would have to have had 16k

Not sure but I think can, hull, nav, obs, ship should all be part of your attack and/or defense

lets bring in another variable.

I'd say set fairly resonable limits to what you can upgrade and when you can upgrade how many cannos can three guys operate? truthfully 1 one to load the plug & tnt one to to load the shot and one to fire the shot.

cannon = 20 and crew = 2 is unreasonable
at minimum you need at least three crew to 2 cannons the captain can help if absolutely required

cannons=20 hull=2 your ship is going to sink

hull=20 crew=4 battleship is going to go real far with 4 people on deck running it.

any ship that has 20 cannon has a hold with gunpowder and cannon balls
there should be a 1 in 8 chance depending on the direction you attack them that you get a direct hit to the hold and win.

what i'm saying is limit what you can upgrade according to what your capabillities are. you need a large crew to run a big ship and to many cannons without the crew or ship is not a strength but a weakness.

not true, ships sink after being inactive 7 days, then getting x amount of hits on them.. i think 100? i could be wrong w/ that number though..

and i know for a fact that 0 fame = 1% lost.. its always been that way except for a couple days.. and it got changed right back..

You didn't read it in its context huskerswrkhavoc. I wasn't being literal as to how the ships sink or as to what attack and defense formulas were.

What I was trying to show is:
(in the order of the enhancement screen)
Ca, Hu, Ra, Cr, Ob, Na, Fame
If PlayerA was at levels (10, 9, 5, 9, 9, 9, 0) and PlayerA attacked PlayerB with levels (8, 20, 4, 3, 3, 3, 0)

Would it not stand to reason that PlayerA would win? A is a better navigator has better observation skills A has more cannons, a larger crew and even better radar.

But as you can see PlayerB's hull is 11 levels higher than PlayerA's and

  • PlayerB's ( hull + navigation) = 23
  • PlayerA's ( attack + crew) = 18


Using this formula PlayerA lost by five points. even though its overall rank was 51 and PlayerB only had 41 points, PlayerA fails the attack.

In my opinion there is no way to determine the winner by using just two of each of the players statistics.
even if you used all four of the stats for each player it is nearly an even battle. added together 1,2,4 & 6 (37 to 34) but PlayerA wins

let look at it another way lets subtract PlayerA's stats from PlayerB's and vise versa then add the results together for each player higher outcome wins.

A(10, 9, 5, 9, 9, 9) -
B(8, 20, 4, 3, 3, 3)
---------------------
A(2, -11, 1, 6, 6, 6)

cannon + crew | 2+6 = 8
using all four stats together
2+(-11)+6+6= 3

(throw a twist into it subtract 10% of fame to make it off balance)

---------------------
B(-2, 11, -1, -6, -6, -6)

hull + nav | 11 + (-6) = 5
using all four together
(-2) +11+ (-6)+(-6) = -3

um actually.. it used to be just be where player a would have failed every time to player b.. but now its changed and i guess its like anyone w/n 3 levels has a good chance at succeeding and everyone else is just so so
