lets hear some ideas for how to protect some new players...

I alone have done whatever I can when it comes to newer players...I know that this game is only a baby as to what it could mature to with some more players!

I see new guys entering the chat, and when they ask a question, they get an honest answer, so that is good...

And as for protecting them during gameplay, lets see if we can come up with somethings...

One thing's for sure, I wouldnt like to be out sailing and a new pirate gets a lucky hit and then I wouldn't be allowed to attack back, so that would be something...

I wouldn't mind there being something that wouldn't let you click on a player that was on the New Pirate Ranks until they attacked you

Or maybe make it so that if you would hit a new guy that is online and moving, he should steal some gold off you...not only would that protect them (since we wouldn't want to lose gold) but then they might get a little something to help them get better stats

Any Idears?

give them 2 weeks or a maxium # of upgrades / attack/defense upgrades and send them off into the big map.. and css.. no offense.. but its not "you alone" that is doing that.. i answer newbs questions when they are in there.. and i dont hit moving little greens unless they hit me, partly because its not worth the gold anyways.. also i think chaos put a lot of work into his newbie guide...

I said I alone because I wwas just stating what I do...that didn't focus on only me doing that in the chat...

I see everyone giving them honest answers, so that is good

And disk, I know it has been suggested, but it hasn't seemed to be thought out...and that is the purpose of this...get all the ideas into a big ball

disk.. do you know how many times a game reset was suggested before it finally happend when capt n bcp took over? there are very few things that happen the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd time its suggested.. so we need to keep talking about it and showing out support for the idea, so it can get done.. i know capt has ideas of his own for this, and wants to work on it.. but we need to show them how high it really is on our priority list

back to the topic
heres my suggestion
1st 3 weeks of play the newb can only be hit once per week from the big boyz
2nd 2 weeks of play the newb can only be hit 2x per week from the big boyz
after one month,you join the big boyz for the 3times a week spanikings
i dont know how hard it would be to implement this but thats my suggestion

newbies immune to attacks for first week, excluding other newbies during that time. To let them get the hang of it.
