Pirate The World - Online Adventure Game

Well I found out once you get to these levels:

Cannons 9
Hull 8
Radar 5
Crew 8
Observation 7
Navigation 7
Ship 1
Fame 0

You have two choices. Only attack islands and if your lucky maybe gain a bit more each day them you lose from attacks. Which means your going to take months to upgrade a new level. The other one is do some attacks and risk losing close to 1/3 of your total gold. Last night I had almost 30,000 gold then got hit for a loss of 8931 from a single attack.
I have played online games for years and I know when a game settings are set to make it almost impossible for a new player to work their way up into the top ranks. Their should be a maximum amount of loss for first week newbies, second week newbies, lower level. upper lower level, lower middle level, middle level, upper middle level, and lower top level, middle top level, highest top levels. As this game sets right now. The highest top players will always stay in the highest top levels.
With almost no chance to upgrade further i see no reason to keep playing this game. I hope the owner of this game fixes the settings to give others a chance to get to the top levels.

that is the same way as i see it.

get a bigger ship

move around more, smack more ships, sink more ships

earn more gold

the problem is there will be fewer and fewer ships to sunk soon. Hopefully not but realistically it looks that way.

Also with a limit of 3 attacks per ship, you probably can attack all the ships in one day with an upgraded ship. And if so, you only need to be active for 3 days and basically take the rest of the week off.

Probably need to do something more than just adjusting some settings.

but for those extra 4 days, it seems like those that havent hit you will, and when they do, chances are your fame won't be so high

I feel some of my newbie luster falling away as I realize something, gamer---I've actually passed you up in almost all stats, and even recently got an upgrade!

Its possible, but it takes luck, and determination. (Isn't that what you were telling me AndyAC in the chatroom after I took a bad hit.)

And it is unfair.. and it is skewed based on when folks came to the party. Just gotta be that much better. (And take the setbacks when the come. And they will come.)

Interesting note--- Noone can steal the GD fragments you get from the prize pearls. I have no illusions of ever being able to cash out normal gold in the current setup, with the current players-- but I think I am going to get these GD up there enough to cash them out at some point. Love them pearls.
