How about creating different seas (Perhaps five or more), wich are automatically accessed at higher upgrade levels.
For example, someone with 1 of each of the 7 upgrade would be at a level 7 and the next upgrade would bring him up to level 8 and so on.
So the first sea could be from level 1 to level 63, the second from level 64 to 126...
After all, a pirate who gains more experience and resources always discovers and eplores new seas(This is where new challenges could be introduced as well, like obstacles through the strait and new things to explore once in the new sea).

This would give a chance for newer and older players to compete only with players somewhat closer to their own rank.
what do you pirates think of this?

I actually like this idea. This seems like a great idea. I just don't know how hard it would be for SeaCaptainN and bcp to do this.. It does sound like a fun idea too.

yeah, I was wondering the same thing wether this would be complicated or not.
On further thoughts, I realized that since there are aproximately 5 to 20 players at any given time, it would most likely have to start whith two levels until more players join. I immagine it would take a while to implement too. :pirat:

I had this idea a while back, but didnt think it was a good idea...

since the smaller players will always have that chance to be able to hit a big guy for big cash, with this in effect, some of the smaller players will be denied that chance for the lucky hit..and trust me, I've seen them happen more than you think

Oh, I wasn't aware that it was possible to rip off higher players, how is that possible? I sure haven't had that luck yet. How much can a big hit be? :money:

I've seen lucky hits range from 36k to 300k

I've wanted to do this for a long time--it's on the books for the future. :-D
