perhaps a telescope find like pearls to exstend radar capabilities on a limited move basis to give newbies some eyes out there?
turn in 3 teles for 3 radar upgrades for 300/600 moves you could limit it grades 5 and under or something like that.otherwise the pirate kings and queens remain eyes without a face and newbies faces without eyes.

I like temporary bonuses that help... it's kind of like Items in the old RPG games.

Yip sounds like a good idea. And it would help players see how useful radar upgrades can be. Kind of like a try before you buy idea, but that you can try more than once.
