I was talking about this in the chat last night with pop and DM the referral system is pretty darn lame I thought a good way to make it actually worthwhile would be to bump it up to 1,000 gp, and these gp don't go to your ship, but your TREASURE CHEST therefore, you can use the referral gold whenever you want, whether it's for a reset or whatever...the point is, it will be gold that won't be stolen from you, and that's a prize and a half And to make it better, you can make it so that for every month that a player plays, the referrer would earn an extra 500 per month e.g.: first month = 1,000 gp second month = 1,500 gp third month = 2,000 gp it would actually be nice to be rewarded for bringing players to the game for once |

What if you got a percentage of doubloons that your referrals purchase? Doing more than 1st tier referrals would not be a good idea, as that kind of scheme never works out in the end. I agree that rewarding players for referrals in their treasure chest is the best way to go. This way could: 1. Bring more people in to the game because you have a better reason to go out and get referrals. 2. Bring more money in to the game because you want to get *spendy* referrals, which means more cashout and prizes, and the cycle repeats and hopefully snowballs. 3. Prevent referral fraud, because only when a referral purchases something do you get the reward. Wouldn't you want to get doubloons every time your referrals buy doubloons? |
