this is a secondary suggestion for cleaning up the game

if you adjust the scripts to let pirates go broke with the "minimum 1 gold loss" with zero fame this next suggestion could help you clean up the seas of dead ships.

could a hit meter be added to a pirates ship ?

the meter would only start counting once a pirate goes broke. you could set the meter to 100 hits and the boat dissapears from the screen when it hits 100. the pirate who sinks the boat gets 5000 gold and the sunken ship goes into an inactive state until the member logs in and continues without any loss of stats.

it would help neebies get some quick upgrades ad add some excitement for the veterans its a win-win situation imho but then again im not a programmer so im not sure how complicated it is to create the scripts

I like it too. Lots of stuff like this has been proposed in the past, but now seems like the best time to implement it, what with there being tons of pirates not playing at the moment and cluttering up the seas.

The idea isn't too complicated to program since we have a great programmer. It sounds like a good idea and I'll talk it over with Jason to see about trying something like this. Good suggestion. :)

Ya - I suggested something like this in the past where so many hits gets the ship "sunk". I like the idea of the "sinker" getting a gold bonus - never thought of that before lol - of course the counter would have to be reset whenever the person logs back in, and also I would keep the ship's stats on the database so they can always come back if they choose to. However maybe after 90 days of inactivity or something (sunk or not), they could be pernamently deleted and notified a few days in advanced.

I talked to Jan the programmer about this update and he said no problem. He is going to start development for this update ASAP. I will keep you posted on the progress. :wink:

idk.. talkin to someone about this.. when they have no gold.. instead of a hit count? take stats... or the gold worth of those stats... ? and when they are out of stats... then they sink

One idea with the boat sinking feature: allow a "vacation" period. In other words, if I know I will be on vacation for a couple of weeks and unable to log in, allow me to set my account to "vacation," which would prevent my ship from getting sank. It wouldn't prevent people from hitting us, but rather, ensure that our ship doesn't get sank while we are away. It would make re-entry a little easier.
