Actually a fund raising idea I had was to sell PTW T-Shirts--- But have at least 2 designs. One you find and one you can buy.

cafepress.com and sites like it could even help with the ordering, etc. Personally I'd buy one!

I think the idea of adding different kinds of upgrades that help you find more gold would be a neat idea. That way there's a trade off for the people who do take the time to work on making their ship better.

Sounds a good idea, but I think obs already does that. I might be wrong though.

I was thinking more like adding more upgrades like different equipment or certain kinds of crew members that will help you to find more gold or plunder other ships with more success. That way the people that use their gold to upgrade their ship are getting more in the long run that those who just cash out asap. It would definitely be more incentive to keep playing if you know that the longer you play the better your chances are at making more gold.

Not sure about the finding more gold, but upgrading already does help you plunder with more success. Upgrading also helps protect your gold from other players, helps you see further, move faster, etc. I don't think I really know what you mean, as it sounds like you're suggesting what's already in the game.

I was thinking specialist like maybe a person who can help you find things in reefs or lagoons(besides pearls), one that could help lower the amount of money you pay in towns or that would enable you to buy new things, options like that.

Maybe something to reward pirates going into chat room, staying in there, posting chat. Nothing too huge, just a small incentive to get more chat going. Otherwise, why change a great game??? Specially since we can now off load our pearls again:D 8)

Something else I have been thinking about - what about having a limit on the amount of gold that can be stolen in attacks? Say 10000 max with each hit. It's still quite a good amount to get if you are attacking, & for the pirate being attacked, still a lot to loose but not enough to discourage the smaller pirates trying to upgrade. It may keep a few more people playing who might normally get discouraged & give up.

Or maybe a max on how much can be stolen in one day, so the early bird catches the worm & the late comer may miss out???
