the old chat window had a sound that played every time there was new text in the chat, and it also had the option of showing the time each message was sent. This new flash chat window does not have these features (or so it would seem to me). Is there any way to enable either one, or must we wait until these get implemented later on?

I've turned on timestamping.

I also turned on sounds. You will receive a sound when someone says your name, when you receive a private message, or when someone "beeps" the room.

Thanks SeacaptainN. The timestamping is really appreciated, however the sound is what bugs me. Most people dont like to manually type names when the talk to someone because it talks too much time to do, so it would be rare to hear a sound, and if you are distracted from the chat because of playing the game or something else then you make the other person wait for your answer. The old chat had a sound and a blinking yellowish-orange tab at the bottom of the screen every time there was a new message in the chat (and you had navigated away to a different window). I guess im saying that i like the old chat window better because of this.

However, its fine for now. At least i know how late i am in answering whoever im talking to (because of the timestamps). Thanks.
