Fleets?

I know it's not an in-game feature, but I'm kind of curious about the fleets that have been set up. Anyone want to throw me a recruitment pitch?

i wouldn't call much anything official as far as fleets go. Some people you are friends with choose not to hit you. And some people who help you lots (are just fattening you up) as i was told recently! :wink:

Every thing as far as a "fleet" goes is based on trust in a somewhat stranger not to maul your rear and take your gold, or to possibly help you find some.... some "alliances" (is probably a better term) work in different ways depending on the people and the goal, wether it be a safe haven of not being hit, or just a source to find the gold, and possibly lose it too.

Just be careful, sharks don't always swim in packs.....

Oh ya almost forgot - rear mauling- aahhh yes I remember those wonderful shellback days crossing the line. Remember it's OK underway.

Haha, memories... I have 2 certificates, One Shellback and one Golden Shellback. All the nonsense on the news made the ceremony a joke the last time we crossed though.

yes it is to bad that the news and people who have no idea what the whole thing is about have to get involed in it, and dumb the whole thing down to a laughing joke.

I'm sure a lot of the other tradition have been dumbed down just to please people on the outside. of course those pilots didnt help matters any with the anitics they where doing.
