Argh the server seems to be pretty bad these few days. Today was the worst, with downtimes almost every 15 minutes.

In 1 downtime, I was left stranded with 50 fame and 7000 gold... 15 minutes later when I check back in, mrsludgemaster calmly took 3k and kooliestgirl took 2k.

fhaitjema was standing beside me so I attacked him, and got 1k from him. Guess he was worse off than me...

I guess its time to upgrade the server. Downtimes will really kill this game.

ps: I sunk a ship later so I sorta got paid back, but wth...

I haven't experienced any downtime yet...

ive seen no downtime either.. maybe its something to do with your connection.. what browswer are you using? i know firefox starts to eat up a lot of memory and then freezes... but thats not server issues...

Its not a freeze, cause when I restart, I can't log back into the game until more than 15 minutes later. Looks like Smiller also had the same problem.

I don't think its a browser problem. I am using Opera 9.20, but if its a browser problem, I should be able to restart when I restart my browser.

Probably its a country issue. I am from Singapore, could that be where the problem lies?

I have had a few freezes myself today and last night. It takes the page forever to load and happens about every 15 to 30 mins. I shutdown my browser and reload it and I am off and running for a while longer.

I swear I'm not trying to force people to stop using IE. :-D

However, it's very difficult for me to test it on IE...and even if the pages look fine, the program itself might be handling things differently, caching pages that shouldn't be cached, and who knows what else. Firefox, Opera, and Safari aren't perfect either. They all have their pluses and minuses.

By the way, the server has been up and running without problems for quite some time. It is not showing a high load and is not under stress.

We don't need to upgrade the server hardware just yet. The problems lie somewhere else right now--either with our software (possible yet there haven't been in problems in the time that you mentioned) or with the Internet in general. Lag and "downtime" problems can be very hard to diagnose.
