Now I was surprised when I didn't find a thread about this movie 2 weeks AFTER it was released!

Well anyway, I went and saw it and here's my little critic summary:

First off, even though I don't really remember the first one, I know I liked it better.

PoC2 was a good movie, don't get me wrong. It was just a little long. At times during the movie I found myself looking around and wondering what time it was, how much time had gone by, and how much time was left.

The effects were pretty neat, and Davy Jones crew looked awesome, as well as the Kraken.

The thing I was really pissed about was how it ended. WOW! You're ready to go on an adventure and than it's like you got slapped and it's over.

Still, now I can't wait for Pirates of the Carribbean 3 to come out now. I don't want to wait another year, but what the heck, don't look like I have a choice now does it?

Feel free to post your critique here and vote in the poll how much you liked this movie.

I agree with KingDragun's remark about the ending... After all of that, all of a sudden, wham! it ended.

I really feel like POTC 3 will be Part 2 of Part 2 of the series. In other words, the 2nd movie felt like half of a very long and very complicated plot, meaning that the 3rd movie will logically be the continuation of that plot and not a separate story involving the same characters.

The only thing more numerous than pirates were plot lines. :-)

The bit about the plot lines is from the ninja's review. :-)

I hear that the 2nd and 3rd movies were filmed together and that they didn't want to divide it.

But they didn't want it turning into a Harry Potter/LOTR 3-4 hour movie.

I agree with them, it did feel long, no need to make it endless.

I had heard this as well but was not sure of the source and blah-blah... It definitely does make sense and is good logic.

I imagine the guys in the editing room freaking out because they can't edit it any more and had to make two movies.

I agree it felt long - but then again, I drank a large-sized soda during the first 20 minutes of the film but didn't want to get up and miss anything; so my perspective isn't really spot-on ^_^
What really suprised me though was the fact that after watching Dead Mans Chest, I actually managed to hate Elizabeth even more than I did after Pearl. Which, y'know, shouldn't be humanly possible.

I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I do know I liked the first one better. The main thing I want to see in the third one is Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's dad.
