Pirate The World - Online Adventure Game

Im kinda new here, maybe a week under my belt. As i paruse the forum i have seen the term "mapper" used frequently. It often seems to be of a hostile or derogatory nature. I am very curious to know what it means as far as this game goes.

You will notice that the spaces in the game don't move, just what you find at them. Say for example you find a fame reset on an island, you can then note the coords and come back to the same place later, and though it will still be an island you might find moves or gold on it instead of another fame reset. So some people move around keeping a record of where everything is in an area so they can come back to it later and jump from island to island. This makes it easy to find gold and moves without getting any fame. It's good when you're first starting out because of the upgrades being cheap. Some players find it boring and/or don't like other players doing it because they won't get much of your gold.
Another common term in the game is fishers which are simply players who wait for moving ships to go past so they can get some easy gold.
However you want to play is up to you though.
