Attacked While Offline

Last night I logged out of the game with about 6000 points. Today I logged back on and I've got about 250.
While logged out, I was attacked and I don't think that's really fair. Shouldn't it only happen while I'm logged in and actually playing the game?

No, you can be attacked when you are not playing.

Be sure that you have 0 fame when you stop playing! That will minimize the amount that you lose while you're offline.

But even when I'm logged out?
I did have quite high fame last night, so I guess the amount I lost did make sense.

think about it

if your ship throws anchor in the middle of the sea and you sneak in your cabin to go to sleep, is it not still on the sea?

You can also review your attack log to see how many people hit you and for how much... Like Cap said, try and get a fame reset before you log out... even a fame level of 1 can make a big difference...
