im no tech but have you tried this
shutdown your computers, unplug your modem and your router for about 5 mins
then turn on the router and the modem..then start up your computers
most routers have a reset switch on them you could try this after
Goodluck

yup i've disconnected router and modem at least 20 times today alone...i can get online for around 10 minutes on my computer and Dor cant get on at all

our service provider says its the router but I'm still not sure

when explorer gives out sometimes i can still log into firefox...for a short while . then it quits and then i have to disconnect everything again only to have to redo it all in 10 minutes or so

I am very perplexed and I can't find my old router yet either

lol shes frantic cause she hasnt been able to play at all and shes scared to even try on her comp cause if she can get online it could give out at any time and with fame it will be her slaughter...shes so frustrated cause she hasnt been able to upgrade for a couple of months now ...she says shes gonna quit when her treasure chest is empty

kinda sounds like you have caught a trojan.

my internet service provider automatically turns off my connection when it detects my computer is doing mass emails.

avgfree got rid of mine luckily since my connection wouldnt of stayed on long enough to run antivirus.com

I don't think its a trojan . i did a virus and spyware scan with AVG and nothing was found. Not only that though, this is happening to both desktop computers and the laptop. This is definately a network issue..when i unplug the router and modem and reconnect I'm good to go for a little while...It takes longer to glitch if I don't open any other windows.

With Dor, she can get onto her hotmail but most times the emails don't open.

I was on Explorer earlier and it went off line so I tried firefox and was able to get online for another 5 minutes or so before it glitched

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm going to try and ditch the router and see how that works

Im thinking it actually is a trojan or something related. Some of the ads here have tried to infect my machine with several adwares as well as trojans. Only way I could get around the constant SAV messages was put adsense in my restricted sites. I still see the ads, but can't get infected with any active X components from them.

We are most likely going to ditch the ads on PTW all together.

They are not earning enough for them to be worthwhile.

If Dor can't get into her e-mail as well as into PTW...I'm not sure what we could do here to help! Hope it gets figured out soon!

If y'all are anywhere near Pittsburgh, I might be able to make a house call--- well after the snow and ice dies down.

Is there another revenue stream that might be created then? Say a buy PTW memorbilia/swag shop? I'd love to have a PTW coffee mug for my cube---

if the ads will be taken down, how will the game bring in enough revenue to not get taken down???

For the last year (as long as bcp19 and I have been here), PTW has been almost entirely supported by player purchases. As far as I know that was pretty much the case for the year before that. Removing the ads alltogether will not hurt cashout...and maybe when we have a larger player base we can attract the big boys of advertising that don't want clicks. Why on Earth would you want to do click-vertising on a game site designed to keep people here... The last thing that you're going to want to do when playing PTW is click away to another website. It just doesn't make sense and I think they should be canned for the time being. Perhaps we could even draw more players by promoting ourselves as "ad-free". :-D

I have run into so many roadblocks with the current codebase that I started working on total rebuild in a totally different programming language that I like so much more than php.

I think, after this is over (and, with the current rate of development in the new, wonderful language this should not be far off), a Cafe Press shop or some other upload-designs-and-sell-them-for-profit website would be in order. bcp19 and I don't have the resources to stockpile and ship all of the merchandise, so it would be better to offload it to a 3rd-party group. :-D

Sounds, well, pretty friggin cool!

I'll try to be first in line, if/when a Cafe Press type shop is open.

(And if Polo shirts are available, I'll even advertise at work. = ) )

Long live PTW!
