It either bumps me out or won't let me in at all. Sometimes it's just the radar thingy, more often though it's been a server error or somesuch thing.

Lots of database errors...happened to me while at a town several times. Refresh would bring back the screen but could not attack the town. Everytime I clicked attack town, got the database error. Just moved on. Interestingly got a database error while clicking the Bug Reporting link in this forum too LOL

We are looking into the database error, it seems to have multiplied since the server move so it is likely a configuration error on the server itself. As soon as we can get a handle on it we will let everyone know.

Thought it was just my old iMac, but I get about 20 of these per session is this helps, just keep logging in:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/pirate/public_html/includes/dbconnector.php on line 2
Database Connection Error

I know this is not top priority at the moment But I would like to put a picture up is a lovely picture of myself asleep on the floor saluting everyone with my paw is a jpeg, can anyone help as to what I do.

Love playing again.

Check this bug out...

when I moved, I was placed at an undefined spot, so I was clicking around, and then wouldn't you know it, bcp's ship gets placed under the X, and I clicked it, and this is what happened:

Details You were attacked by CSStriker
Pirate's location XXXXXXXX
Attack Status Pirate Failed
Gold you stole 479 pieces

Event Log Your location at the time of attack XXXXXX
Date & time of attack 03 Mar 2007 @ 22:42:09

amazing, huh? that attack took place over 100 square spaces, just so you know...I am sure seacaptain sees it, haha

lol

That's a nice one CSS!

I believe I have found and resolved the problem with the database.

The database service was being restarted at either one of two intervals:

Every 8.5 minutes (varying by about a second)

or

8.5 minutes, 30 seconds, 8.5 minutes, 30 seconds.

None of the error logs showed anything strange. The database was just shutting itself down normally and then starting back up again.

The problem was that a part of cPanel (a web host manager) was checking on all of the services on the server. It had lost access to the database, so every time it checked on the database and couldn't access it, it would restart the database service.

*whew*

I have heard of a silverback but never a goldback... Is that a new species?

Would like to report that after my 600++ moves, not one database error... There were three or four times the screen didn't want to load right away (lag) but other than that, the game ran fine for me this morning

Awesome work!!
