I was playing my moves and the game kept going to the white page of death. I got hit hard cause I couldnt move AGAIN and finally when i could move the page turned white. I closed the game to restart and now I can't log on: I gave up after six tries this message
popped up. If I lose everything I've worked for I will be very pissed off. I cannot sit at my computer all day waiting for this to be fixed...I do have to work and don't have internet access there..This problem has been going on for way too long..it is not my computer, it is not my internet connection that is causing this.
This is very "F"ing frustrating cause my fame is high and I can't even buy a fame reset.

The connection has timed out

The server at game.piratetheworld.com is taking too long to respond.

ARGGGG for Gods sake fix this or I quit

This same thing happened to me yesterday and I couldn't log back in until I cleaned my cookies, off-line files and temp folder, rebooted and finally reapaired my browser settings.

The Cap'n responded to my other post in the forum that everything seemed fine and since cleaning my computer solved the problem, I have come to the conclusion that the problem is NOT the game or our computers!

IT IS WITH THE ADVERTISERS! One of them is running an ad that saves itself to the temp folder in the windows directory and it also messes with our browser settings.

This is very frustrating and really sucks when you have fame!

I'm looking into dumping our ads and going with a different model.

Most of these ads are targeted towards an audience that probably wants to click away from the site that they're on. They're surfing for information and are jumping from site to site.

Pirate The World has a much different, "captive" audience. You guys don't want to click away from the page. We need to find sponsors who want to advertise to you to get their "brand" out, or find some other way of doing sponsorship. Ads in the game window need to not be ones trying to get out of the the window. Perhaps something where you can check "Remember this Ad", and after you're done playing you can then go and check out the company? I personally don't know very much about the advertise-o-sphere, but I do know that what we're doing currently isn't working very well.
