But if you're attacking like the log indicates, then your fame maybe wasn't at 0 when you were attacked.
Also, don't forget, u see where those people took x ammount of gold from you? With seacaptainn getting the most? You were just one person they hit and succeeded or even failed on.
It seems for everyone you hit for 1,000 or more gold there's an absolute ton with very little or no gold. You just have to keep trying. That's all, you'll get somewhere.
Read in the rest of the forum about upgrades and statistics, you'll get the hang of it.
Also, look at your stats. Ask yourself how much of your gold has been taken. What's the % of gold plundered from you vs. the ammount of gold you've found and plundered. Even before I got help from reading in the forum and asking a bunch of stupid questions, for all the attacks, my ammount of gold found + plundered was always a whole lot higher than the ammount plundered from me.
Also higher fame does = higher losses. While you're still new, and finding your way around the game, just keep upgrading. They can't take what you don't have
. Don't forget to read the rest of the forum and make sure you don't upgrade the wrong thing(like apparently upgrading observation can be very bad when still little and weak).
My first week I was irritated and upset too. Kept getting hit by folks who I couldn't hit back. I'm still not tough enough to take on seacaptain(without a lot of luck from the gods), so I just didn't hit anyone, and I kept my fame really low(when just low fame could protect you). If I started right now, I'd keep it at 0 and search islands, all the time, just to make sure I wouldn't have any fame when hit, so as to save up gold for upgrades.
To each their own, you may have much better luck just attacking everything in sight.
